The journey

Shivani’s dance journey began with Kathak training under Smt. Anjani Ambegaokar in Southern California, where she developed a deep appreciation for storytelling, musicality, and discipline through movement.

As she expanded into contemporary, modern, and street styles, she discovered a sense of presence, confidence, and flow that felt both grounding and empowering.

Today, she creates work and is building community through IMGE Studios, a space where movement invites people to feel more fluid, intuitive, and free.

Credits & accolades

Her practice is informed by the creativity, individuality, and community she has found across different movement traditions. She has performed and choreographed across commercial, concert, and community spaces, including as a company performer with IMGE Dance.

Her credits include Netflix’s feature film “Best of the Best”, the Bacardi x VMAs international commercial, Broadway Bares, Indowarehouse concerts, Vogue and Vanity Fair, a university residency at Gonzaga University, and more.

She is also the co-founder of IMGE Studios, holds a BA in Data Science and a minor in Dance and Performance Studies from UC Berkeley, and completed the pre-professional training program at Broadway Dance Center in New York.

Outside of dance, her experience spans strategy consulting, healthcare, and business analytics, and she enjoys yoga, exploring new restaurants, and traveling.
